Understanding the Material behind Monkey Knuckles

Wondering what differentiates Monkey Knuckles from all the other knuckles available in Canada? It’s our own proprietary material coupled with our in house manufacturing process. The material that brass knuckles are crafted from plays a crucial role in how they fit, their durability, their weight and their effectiveness overall. It is the single most important factor we considered when we started manufacturing knuckles, and since none of the options on the market met our needs, we decided to make our own. We strongly believe this is one of the reasons why we are the number one manufacturer and distributor of brass knuckles in Canada.

With metal knuckles being prohibited in Canada and the law specifically stating that plastic knuckles are legal in Canada, we knew the direction we had to go in. We had 3 requirements that we needed to meet before moving forward, knuckles must be nearly indestructible so we can offer a lifetime warranty, must be reasonably priced so it’s affordable and accessible to all Canadians and it must look good. We knocked the first one out of the park with over 50,000 knuckles sold we have only processed 5 warranty claims, that’s a 0.01% claim rate! The second one was equally as important as we didn’t want our knuckles costing 100$ or more because we decided to use high end materials. We considered polycarbonate (which is what bulletproof windows are made of), PEEK (full name polyetheretherketone, which is used in aerospace parts aka rocketships) just to name a few but the costs were too high. Last but certainly not least the knuckles had to look good, because regardless of how well engineered our knuckles were no one was going to buy them if they were ugly.

So the base material we landed on was ABS plastic, it has the highest impact resistance out of any plastic other than polycarbonate (0.01% claim rate whoo!), it is affordable when purchased in large quantities (hence why we’re able to sell our knuckles for around $30 ish Canadian) and it can produce amazing colour combinations. But we didn’t want our knuckles to be easily replicable, so we took it one step further and added Carbon Fiber to reinforce our knuckles while still keeping them legal. The magic is all in the science, if too much Carbon Fiber (or any other plastic) was added our knuckles would be brittle and if too less not strong enough, so through thousands of hours of testing and reiteration we were able to land on the perfect blend to create our Carbon Fiber Knuckles. Our coloured knuckles (CaKnucks, Royal Purple and Military Green) took just as much work and are crafted from ABS and reinforced with a proprietary blend of other plastics, which ones you may wonder? Well we can’t give all of our secrets away now can we!

I’ve ordered my first set of knuckles and just waiting for them to arive. Hopefully this week if I’m lucky, but super excited and heard lots of good things about this product but although I listen to other people’s feed back it’s important I unbox these monkeynuckles my self and find out what really is going on. I will give you my honest review of testing them and let you know the results. Super excited to try them .
    Thanks again,
